Winnie

Still a pup, Winnie is full of spunk and tons of energy. As long as she has a tennis ball or a frisbee to chase, she is one happy girl!

This will be my last post at this site. I hope you'll continue to follow me on my new blog here.

Puppy LOVE!!

My husband and I brought home our newest additon over the weekend. We've watched this cute adorable butterball grow up since she was 2 weeks old.

It seems like it's been forever since we've been waiting to bring her home, but what a joy she's been! I just love everything about puppies...puppy growls,

puppy breath, puppy paws, puppy innocence...

They grow up way too fast, but I'm loving every moment of it!

My photos will be on display Thursday September 16 as part of the Lock Haven photography art walk. The event takes place from 4 pm - 8 pm and will be featuring several other photographers from the KC Net photography club. If you live in Central PA, come down and say hello and see more of my pet photography.

Tied up

I could have spent my entire vacation in Venice!

Maggie

I used to take care of Maggie when she was a younger girl. She had a lot of spunk and I remember being grateful she had a big field in her backyard in which to play. She could easily drag me down the street if she wanted to! I haven't seen her in a few years and she's mellowed out quite a bit. These days she's dealing with arthritis. Her walks may be shorter, but she still has the same old spunky attitude!

Cats, cats & more cats!

For the last couple of months I've been volunteering at a local no-kill shelter. I photograph the cats and kittens that are available for adoption and post them on the shelter's website. It's been a lot of fun! It's also been really hard to come home empty handed as so many of them will make great companions! Here's a sampling of some felines that are still looking for a forever home. You can check out the shelter's website here.

Love locks

Lovers write their names on brass locks like these and throw the key into the Arno River to show how strong their love is. It's the American equivalent of carving your initials into a tree.

Ponte Vecchio Bridge

Just got back from a whirlwind trip to Italy! Spanning the Arno River in Firenze (Florence), this bridge is a mere 665 years old!

Leo & Mya

If you've read the book "Marley and Me" you have some idea of what these two labrador retrievers are like. Mya, the younger of the two and still growing up, is learning the navigate the ways of the world. Leo, the mature one, does his best to teach her what he can, but she just wants to learn all on her own. Add some water to the craziness and all mayhem breaks loose. By the time I was done with this photo shoot, I was soaked from head to toe!

Found this field of Queen Anne's lace and experimented with some processing techniques.

Purple

I'm not sure what kind of flowers these are, but we found them in several flower beds on the campus.

Bentley

Just like Honey from last week's blog post, Bentley is also a rescue dog. His owners have only had him for a couple of months and he is adjusting well. He too wasn't sure of me at first, but a few chicken treats and he was over it! He followed me everywhere which tells me he will do just fine in his new life. Bentley is a bichon frise.

Honey

Honey is a rescue who found her new home through a cocker spaniel rescue group. No one knows what her previous life was like, but she certainly had some bad experiences. When I first met Honey, she would scream at me until she realized I wasn't going to hurt her. It took a few days, lots of walks and some treats, but she now runs and jumps up on me when I go over to visit her. Sometimes rescue dogs have a lot to overcome, but many of them go on and become great companions.

Old Main Tower

On July 24th, I participated in my first ever Scott Kelby photowalk. This event takes place worldwide and the walk I led took place on the campus of the Pennsylvania State University. Today is the first in a series of images from this walk. I had a great time and met some new friends!

The water cooler

Horsin' around, these assateague ponies were hoping someone would disobey the rules and turn on the water spigot.

Zoe

Zoe shares the same home as Brody who was featured on last week's pet blog post. She's quite the opposite of Brody, calm and mature, preferring to hang out over chasing balls, whether they are real or not!

Assateague sunrise

I spent some time in Assateague while visiting Ocean City. Getting up very early one morning, I was hoping to capture some nice sunrise shots. But mother nature had other ideas. This was the only sunrise image from that morning.

Ocean View

Was at Ocean City for vacation last week. Didn't take too many photos, but I did capture this of a hotel right on the boardwalk.

Brody

Here's a golden who loves to chase balls...even if you don't really have a ball to throw. He'll try to find it anyways. I had to run Brody pretty hard in order to get him to slow down long enough to capture this image of him.

'Ol Rusty

A few photobuds and I met up at a local junkyard one morning. There weren't as many old and rusty cars as we hoped, but we found a few to work with.

Bogey

Bogey's "brother" Casper was on my blog back in the winter. I wanted to photograph Bogey outside so I waited until it was spring to take his picture. He was simply the most cooperative dog I've worked with thus far, sitting still the entire time I worked.

Found this pink and white crown victoria at an antique car show over memorial day weekend.
