Through the woods

The most recent snowstorm left record breaking accumulations in many areas in Pennsylvania. For a change, central PA didn't bear the brunt of mother nature's fury. The final tally, a whopping 6 inches of snow. I headed over to Rothrock State forest during the storm and had the place virtually to myself.

Come on in

St. Michael's was pretty deserted while we were visiting. We felt like we had the place all to ourselves. I imagine in the summer it's a pretty bustling place. We fell in love with the homes near the water. The porches were just so inviting...

Finding peace

On November 29, my sweet Mika passed away after her long battle with cancer. We miss her dearly. She has left a void in our lives, our house feels so empty without her. The next day my husband and I left town for a few days hoping to find some peace. We landed in St. Michaels, MD, a cute, quaint little town on the Chesapeake Bay.

We've suffered so many losses this year, it seems as though we've done nothing but grieve for months. Our getaway was just what we needed. I still haven't found the peace I was looking for, but I am reminded that with each new day there is hope that things will once again be ok.
